Building a business is a long process. You must endure many dark moments before the light of success shines on you.

These eight dimensions of character keep you going when you are stressed to the breaking point and are ready to quit.

  1. STRONG FAITH:

You must believe in yourself and the value of your work long before there is any evidence of a valid basis for it.

2. MORAL INTEGRITY:

Your reputation must never be knowingly compromised. Success achieved by gaming the system and taking advantage of people driven by desperation is not worth having and often short-lived.

3. LOVE OF LEARNING:

There may be many lessons learned the hard way, but you will not stop.

4. SELF-CONTROL:

If you can’t walk away from something, you do not own it; it owns you.

5. PATIENCE:

Cheap tricks are expensive. There’s no shortcut to success.

6. RESPECT FOR WHAT YOU HOLD SACRED:

People who hold nothing sacred aren’t safe. When you disrespect what you and others hold sacred you destroy chances of success.

7. KINDNESS:

Be kind always. Everyone you meet knows something you don’t and is carrying burdens you know nothing about.

8. ABILITY TO LOVE:

Those who deserve our love least are the ones who need it most. When you can choose love in situations like these, you will know what it truly means to be successful.
